Founding and Mission

Aggregate Development Solutions (ADS), established by Mike Jacobsen in January 2024, serves Arizona and California's development market by addressing a critical gap: the "Path to Power." This refers to the essential final steps in connecting utilities—electricity, gas, and telecommunications—to ensure projects are fully operational. Recognizing frequent oversights in this area, Mike founded ADS to deliver seamless utility coordination and project management services to developers and businesses.

Origins: Jacobsen’s Consulting Services

ADS’s roots trace back to the late 1990s in Southern California, where Mike’s father, Roy, was a key figure at Power Plus in Orange County. Roy’s expertise in dry utility coordination made him indispensable. Developers across California urged Roy to start his own firm, resulting in the creation of Jacobsen’s Consulting Services (JCS).

JCS faced early challenges, bootstrapped by Roy and his wife with limited resources. Mike joined as an assistant project manager, learning the intricacies of dry utility coordination. Under Roy’s mentorship, he worked with industry leaders like Western National, The Irvine Company, and Trammell Crow, eventually rising to a project manager and executive role within JCS.

Transition and Growth

By 2020, Roy was ready to retire, while Mike sought new challenges. A prominent developer recruited Mike as an in-house utility coordinator and project manager, exposing him to land acquisition, entitlements, zoning, permitting, and city council processes. During this period, Mike collaborated with major clients like In-N-Out, Hampton, Circle K, and Travel Centers of America. The developer’s success led to the creation of their own general contracting company to maintain quality and schedules, even amidst the disruptions of the COVID-19 pandemic.

A New Chapter in Arizona

The pandemic prompted Mike and his newlywed wife to seek a fresh start. Drawn by Arizona’s opportunities, they relocated, sold their home, and launched ADS. Leveraging Mike’s extensive experience, ADS fills a vital niche in Arizona’s development landscape, ensuring projects are completed with reliable utility connections.

Though ADS is new, its foundation is built on decades of expertise and a commitment to excellence. Mike Jacobsen and his team are dedicated to guiding clients through the complexities of development, delivering results that power progress.
